Serrano
Serrano peppers are a hot chili pepper named for the mountain ridges (“Sierra”) in Mexico, where they originated. They remain popular in Mexican food and culture today, and their medium level of spice makes them suitable to eat raw in sauces and dips, pickled, or cooked. This versatility has made them immensely popular.
This Capsicum Annuum is basically the next step up from the Jalapeño, heat-wise. It has bright, bold flavors with a little bit more of spice. They look like sleeker, bullet-shaped Jalapeños.
