Uchu continues to safely produce during COVID-19.

While both Ecuador and Peru are in mandatory lockdown due to coronavirus (COVID-19), the governments of the countries have granted special dispensation in the form of mobility permits to companies involved in critical sectors, such as agriculture and exports.

This means that we will continue to be operational for the foreseeable future.

Farmers are particularly eager to have income from selling their produce, which also allows us as a company to continue contributing in keeping this sector of the economy running. Our agronomists are continuing to plant new fields, so if we keep orders coming and we are permitted to work, we will keep the supply chain running.

Ocean shipping containers are scarce, but we are managing to find units; air freight with cargo planes continues to be operational as well.

As of today, no employee of Uchu has shown signs of COVID-19, and we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure their health and safety.  As such, we have structured specific shifts and work from home plans in order to reduce personnel overlap.

We are committed to complying with our customers’ needs, and the better informed we are regarding your requirements and current trends, the better we can adjust and adapt, so please keep us informed from your end as well.

Stay safe and eat your chilies!
